National Cluster Competitions

FHS FCCLA competed in our first every National Cluster Competition November of 2018 in Louisville, Kentucky. At Cluster, members compete against other schools in various events like Knowledge Bowl and Knife Skills.

Knowledge Bowl

Competing in the knowledge Bowl was an interesting experience. As preparation for this event our team meet a couple of times and did the online practice tests for this event and we felt ready to take on Louisville. When we arrived at the competition our team of 5 spit up into different sections: Personal Finance, Consumer Rights & Responsibilities, Technology, Health and Safety, and Environment. After we competed in our sections the top 16 teams advanced to buzzer rounds. It this point it is 5v5 and teams are asked the trivia questions and whoever has the most at the end of the round will advance in the bracket. Our team went 1-2 and enjoyed our experience. We will be competing again at state.
