Chapter Development

Fairbury High School FCCLA participates in a lot of activities throughout the year, and because of this, we need a way to finance these events. Through fun activities we make money to put towards all costs we need during the school year.
Pancake Feed

Every year on the day of the FHS Homecoming our FCCLA members prepared pancakes and sausages for students and staff at the high school. We charged $5 for a plate with 3 pancakes, sausage, and juice. This event has continued to be a hit and this past year we raised more than $370.

Concessions

FHS FCCLA runs many concessions stands throughout the school year. This past year at the home Softball Invitational we made over $1000. This is our largest concession stand, but we also run a concession stand for the school garage sale, at a local bike race and fireworks stand

V-Day Cookie Sales

The week before Valentines Day our organization sells 5" Eileen's cookies during lunch periods and deliver them the 14th of February. Students at the high school can purchase them, and at Jefferson and Central parents can purchase cookies to be delivered to their students.

Coffee Telathon

Every year we pair with a company that hsots a Telathon and fundraiser called The Great American Opportunities Fundraiser. We sell Grourmet Coffee duing a 60 minute telathon and continue to sell forn 2 more weeks. This company gives out prizes to sellers and when a certain goal is reached, they give out college scholarship money.

Junior High Dances

FHS FCCLA hosts 2 junior high dances throughout the year. One in the fall as a kickoff to the new school year and a semi-formal in late February. At these dances we charge $5 for admission and sell pop for $1 and take song request for the same price. Students love these dances and are always looking forward to having them.

Community Donations

Our community is very supporting of our club, at the beginning of the 2017-18 school year we received donations from our local Union bank and the Fairbury Booster Club. We used these donations to buy red polos for members to wear to leadership conferences and other expenses throughout the year like bus fees.

$20 Jeans

For the past two years Fairbury FCCLA has used this fundraiser as a way to finance a trip to nationals. Teachers and staff at Fairbury Public Schools are given the opportunity to wear jeans to school the last 20 days of the year if they donate $20 to the nationals trip! Staff really likes this fundraiser and it is a great money maker for our trips!
